Each year, we help deserving students defray the costs of a college education by awarding three $2,500 college scholarships to outstanding high school seniors. The 2012 scholarship recipients are:
Kristin Preston, an Honor Graduate of El Cajon Valley High School is a step closer to her dream of studying science in college. "I would like to make a difference and I feel I could do that if I became a scientist." She has been accepted by San Diego State University.
Gautam Soundararajan will graduate from Francis Parker School where he acquired a passion for biology. He has been accepted for admission to Dartmouth College in New Hampshire. His community work has included providing basic medical relief in countries such as Mexico and Nepal. Ultimately, Gautam plans to pursue a career in academic medicine.
Alexa Wolfe graduates this year from Foothills Christian High School with a 4.2 GPA and all time school records on the track team. Her community activities are lengthy, serving the homeless, the handicapped, Invisible Children and Meals on Wheels. She will be attending San Diego State University.
